Men’s common waxing body parts are the chest and back but there are others that love to be waxed also in their private or sensitive parts. Those are just the few positive sides in male waxing as we all should know, and as the hair grows back it will be thinner, softer texture and will also become gradually lighter in color. I know very little about make up being a man, I always thought it came down to the three common products, some form of base paint, lipstick and an eye definer…apparently it is far more complicated than that. So if you are a man and know nothing about make up but want to know more so you can finally understand what girls are on about listen up, it might even give you some pointers when it comes to getting Christmas gifts this holiday season.

The first documented recording of cosmetics was around 3500 BC in the Old Kingdom of the ancient Egyptians but it took till the ancient Greeks before it became a staple for women all over the western world. The makeup industry is now worth a staggering 6.2 billion pounds.

I am more than sure at some point in any males life a women will ask him something makeup related, god forbid she asks you to pass her something… you could be there for hours trying to decipher all the different but exactly the same packaged products. I mean really why make lipstick and mascara in a similar bottle? The mind boggles.

So here is a list of all the products used by other half of the species:

Lipstick. Also known as lip gloss, lip liner, lip plumper, lip balm, lip conditioner, lip primer, and lip boosters, lip stains have a water or gel base and sometimes contain alcohol to help the product retain on the lips despite usage. The idea behind lip stains is to temporarily saturate the lips with a coloured dye of choice, usually designed to be waterproof the product is normally applied by the inbuilt push device but sometimes may come with an applicator brush or can be applied with a finger though is normally done by professionals.

Foundation. Foundation is used to smooth out the face and cover spots or uneven skin colouration. Found in four variations of liquid, cream, powder and a fluffy mousse, which provides the most superior coverage. To make things more complicated there is also such thing as a foundation primer that can be applied before to get a smoother finish. Some primers come in powder or liquid form, while other primers can come in a spray that is to be applied after you are finished to help the makeup last longer.

Concealer. This product is used to cover any imperfections or blemishes on the skin. Concealer is often thicker and more solid than foundation and provides longer lasting, and more detailed coverage.

Blusher. Again another product that goes by many other names for example blush, bronzer, rouge, they are all a simple cheek colouring used to bring out a golden tone or another specific colour in the cheeks to make the cheekbones appear more defined. This comes in powder, cream and liquid forms.

Mascara. This is used to darken, lengthen, and thicken the eyelashes. It is available in every colour you can think of. There are many different formulas, including waterproof for those prone to allergies or sudden tears. Often used after an eyelash curler and mascara primer they are one of the biggest parts of any woman’s makeup bag. You can also get fake eyelashes that are applied with glue to help along with the mascara to extend and bulk out the eyelashes.

Eye makeup. Sadly there are too many mini products to give each one their own defining paragraph so we have eye liner, eye shadow, eye shimmer, eye pencils and eyebrow pencils as well as different colour pencils and even glitter ones, they are all used to colour and emphasize the eyelids or surrounding area larger. They come in creams, waxes, gels, powders, carbon sticks basically every form under the sun.

So there you have it, a basic intro to make up and the ins and outs of each product.

Whether you are looking for a pair of mens shoes for a special event or just something stylish and casual, finding the right pair can be a difficult task. With so many choices and brands available, the task may seem overwhelming, but with the right amount of research the perfect buy can be achieved. Here are some things to consider when making your purchase.

Function: Knowing exactly what you want your new shoe to achieve is optimal in making your final purchase. An almost infinite combination of style, design, and construction mean that you will want to clearly outline what your new pair of shoes will be used for. Will they be a daily wear, or only for special occasions? Once you have decided on your function, it is time to begin considering the other aspects.

Style: Stylish dress shoes can be used for a variety of functions, which means that making your final decision will require a great deal of thought. When making your decision keep in mind the rest of your wardrobe and the style you wish to embrace. Color, composition, and brand all determine the style of the shoe, so do a great deal of shopping to find the perfect fit.

Price: Something that should always be considered, price is based on a large number of qualifiers. When shopping around, be sure that you are looking at brands and models that fit your budget. Although dress models are designed to be flashy, they should not be out of your price range. There are plenty of lower priced options that may give you the same effect and allow you to save money in the process.

Research: Finding the best deal often requires a great deal of time spent researching. Shopping online as well as checking local stores is the perfect way to ensure that you are finding the best deal and getting the right style of shoe. Another great way to receive a good deal is to look at older models of shoe. Things move so fast in the fashion world that the newer models are generally much more expensive and only look slightly different.

Event: Be sure you know which type of shoe is appropriate for the event or events that you plan on attending. Just because a model is stylish does not mean that it is appropriate for whichever affair you plan on participating in. Online reviews and style columns will generally have answers to which style of shoe is required for which event.

Brand: Many people who are attuned with fashion will tell you that brand means everything. Although this can be the case in some instances, there are a few exceptions. A few cheaper brands offer the same look and feel as the more expensive models, but come at a fraction of the price. The only way to find out whether or not the lower priced brands is what you are looking for is to try them and see if they are right for the occasion.

Fit: When it comes to choosing the right shoe, fit means everything. Be sure to consult a professional fitter to determine the size and shape of your foot when shopping for the right pair. Having a shoe that fits will give you increased comfort and ensure that the shoe looks good while you are wearing it.

Here are a random selection of the top 6 Man Gadgets you need to get your guy this Christmas:

1.The App Gun
With smart phones getting thinner and thinner you can find yourself struggling just to keep hold of the slippery thing. This problem really comes to light when you might be trying to play a game on an app and find that you can’t get enough control from the device to play the game effectively. So now they’ve come up with the app gun which makes playing first person shooter games a doddle, the other cool side to the product is that it looks awesome. It has an 80’s retro vibe that can’t help but bring the kid out in any man.

2. Indoor Helicopter
If you or your man ever wanted to become a pilot here’s your chance. Instead of having to shell out over hundreds of thousands of pounds on an outdoor one simply get an indoor remote control one. If you have little ones and are worried about the blades they are normally made out of soft plastic and through propulsion can muster enough strength to fly as high as any hard plastic, but always double check if you can’t automatically tell.

3. Video Ski Goggles
If you are going skiing this holiday season or maybe later in the next year why not invest in some awesome video recording goggles. They record in HD so you know the quality will be good and you can relive your slippery slope sliding over and over again, it’s also a cool tool if you are into videography or a keen sportsman wanting to improve your technique. And if you can’t ski and have no intent to ever go skiing they still look wicked and you have yourself a cool on person camera angle to create mini films with.

4. Beard Beanies
The new trend that will most likely be worn by every man in the coming year. It is very simple but totally awesome, it’s a beanie with a knitted beard attached. You can add to you or your man’s ruggedness in seconds with this little contraption. Go from Joe Blogs to Jack Lumber and watch other men die of envy from your awesomely soft beard.

5. The Spy Watch
Always wanted to feel like James Bond, or feel your man needs a new edge of suave in 2012 then get a spy watch. They have come a long way since the 90’s and can now record video, take pictures and sound clips, they have massive amounts of memory, water proof linings and can even tell the time. ‘I’m glad they kept that part in Q.’

6. MP3 Amp Speakers
If you are a keen lover of house parties or you are a festival goer then this is a kick-ass little gift to go with. Styled like a miniature amp they look rock and roll and retro all at the same time which is quite a feat in itself. The have the universal headphone connector so it can fit into any device, they even have controllable base and treble adjustments so you can get the right level before you rock out!
