In the bodybuilding documentary “Pumping Iron”, someone asked Arnold Schwarzenegger why he liked bodybuilding.

“It’s as satisfying to me as, uh, cumming is, you know? As, ah, having sex with a woman and cumming. I am like, uh, getting the feeling of cumming in a gym, I’m getting the feeling of cumming at home, I’m getting the feeling of cumming backstage when I pump up, when I pose in front of 5,000 people, I get the same feeling, so I am cumming day and night. So you know, I am in heaven.”

Schwarzenegger’s life does seem like one long orgasm, doesn’t it? Genetics plays a major role, of course. For everyone born with Arnold’s confident demeanor, there is another born with an equally opposite depressing one.

But there’s more to our behavior than genetics. People change. When they do, their genes don’t change with them. Different person, but always same genes. It tells us behavior is changeable. What changes it is changes to the chemical cocktail soaking our brains all day, every day. This cocktail is where change resides. Change the hormone and chemical soup you call a brain, and you change your behavior.

But now we can see through functional MRI scanning that a simple thought can change that soup, almost as drastically as a shot of booze. Insecure thoughts disappeared long ago from Arnold’s brain, if they were ever there to begin with.

And without dopamine-draining thought patterns, the teststerone, dopamine and serotonin cocktail his brain received through years of workouts and competitions changed the physical properties of Arnold’s brain, with a higher concentration of neurochemical activity in the regions of the brain associated with Confidence.

This is all speculation on what happened in Arnold’s brain, of course, based on what we now know about the brain and how it works. After years of any man’s brain feasting on the “Confidence Cocktail,” so to speak, the habits spawned by it become the norm. When that happened, the Supremely Confident Arnold Schwarzenegger we know today was born.

Just as regular doses of cocaine change the physical properties of the brain and the person’s behavior along with it, the equal but opposite reaction can happen in the brain when subjected to regular and increasing doses of the “Confidence Cocktail” of dopamine, testosterone, serotonin and other feel-good hormones and mood-balancing chemicals.

So the secret to Arnold-like Confidence is formulating a plan that administers these feel-good chemicals into your brain on such a consistent basis that it changes your behavior. That behavior will then reinforce the effectiveness of the chemical cocktail and an upward spiraling cycle begins.

The plan must also include mental tools to eliminate negative thought patterns that could screw up the delicate balance of positive brain chemistry. This one-two punch of chemical infusion and thought control can begin the tiny chunk of ice that snowballs into the Goodyear blimp-sized Confidence that Arnold sports.

There’s a manual out there which details how to make just such changes to a man’s Confidence. It’s actually called “The MANual.” It’s written by a guy who felt “challenged” in the size department, realized it was Confidence he lacked, and tells exactly what he did to, as he puts it, “grow testicles the size of bowling balls.”

It also explains the minds of women like nothing else I have ever read and made me laugh out loud a few times along the way. Go here to check it out. Like Arnold might say: Just do it!
